Exploring farm roads on a borrowed bike put Susan on the hunt for a dirt worthy bike of her own. The search led her to a local bike shop where the karma gods served up a job and a free mountain bike! The rest, as they say, is history. Since that momentous day in the mid 90’s, she has raced more than twenty years including cross country, slalom, downhill, and personal favourite enduro. She instantly embraced the mountain bike community for the adventurous and amazing folks that encouraged her to push the limits and dusted her off when she came up short. Life outside the tape has proved equally as rewarding since becoming an instructor and travelling to new places to spread the stoke. Her personal riding progressions continue to be fueled by her client’s successes and fellow instructors who serve as a constant reminder to keep moving forward, embrace the journey, and never stop trying to be the best you can be. Susan resides in northern Vermont surrounded by mountains and hundreds of miles of trail. After juggling back and forth between trail and downhill bikes for a few seasons, the Altitude was love at first ride. Equally at home on a backcountry marathon, as it is lapping the bike park, it’s the perfect steed for her all-mountain adventures.
