The 2008 Squamish Test of Metal was dominated by Rocky Mountain Bicycles, with RMB athletes taking 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 8th, and 10th place out of the top ten. Max Plaxton of the RMB factory team was first place, setting a new course record of 2:15. Martin Lazarski and Stefan Widmer, racing for the Rocky Mountain/Different Bikes team rounded out the podium.
Not only did Rocky Mountain dominate the front of the race, but no less than 225 of the 1000 participants finished the grueling 67 kilometers on their Vertex's and Elements – a truly impressive number.
