Dane Jewett was born in Kelowna, BC, weighing in at a whopping 5 lbs - but being small has never stopped Dane. His determination to catch up to his older brother resulted in his first ski turns at 18 months and removing the training wheels off his bike at age two.
His family moved around a bit until 2011 where they dug in their heals in Squamish, BC. Regardless of location, Dane’s focus on riding has always remained front and centre, developing his skills through BMX racing, trail riding in Squamish, and cranking out laps in the Whistler Bike Park. He’s proud to say that he’s comfortable sending Crabapple Hits, and that he stomped his first backflip before his 11th birthday. Dane’s thrown down race runs that have landed him on the podium at Crankworx for the Air DH and he’s completed the 38km Squamish Gryphon Enduro where he finished 9th place in U19 at just 11 years old.
Currently, Dane spends most of his time riding at home in Squamish where he’s focused on air time, gnarly downhills, and mastering new tricks. Dane can’t wait for his 13thbirthday, because he’ll finally be old enough to race the BC Cup DH series and show the kids (and adults) of the province who’s boss!
